POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Fundraising officer

Location: Skopje, Macedonia

Position Status: Full-time, Temporary

The key purpose of the job is to develop and promote a diverse range of fundraising activities and projects, assist the management in development of clear fundraising strategy and support income generation to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fundraising Duties:

  • Researching and approaching potential donors and raise funds for the activities of the organisation, and compile and maintain a database of local and international donors;
  • Maintain relationships with existing donors and respond to their requests regularly and keep updating them about the work of the organization;
  • Regularly monitor donor websites and identify and inform donor opportunities matching the work of the organization;
  • Be responsible for development of clear fundraising strategy of the organization, together with the management;
  • Managing the grant application process and ensuring that reporting is tracked and meets donors' expectations;
  • Organize or provide assistance in organizing any fundraising events for the organization;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
  • Other duties as directed by line manager.

Proposal writing duties:

  • Determines proposal concept by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs; studying requests for proposal (RFPs); attending strategy meetings;
  • Develops proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation; writing, revising, and editing drafts including executive summaries, conclusions, and organization credentials;
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; entering and monitoring tracking data; coordinating requirements with contributors; contributing proposal status information to review meetings; transmitting proposals;
  • Other duties as directed by line manager.

Person Specification:

Knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor degree in public relations, journalism, communications, English, or business, but degrees in other subjects also may be acceptable.
  • Good knowledge of the principles of fundraising from trusts and foundations and experience in soliciting funds from these sources.
  • Proficiency in English is a must, knowledge in Macedonian and Albanian are an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in preparing multiple funding application forms and writing detailed and compelling proposals.
    • Some experience of social media and digital marketing.
