Access to rights and protection of vulnerable categories of people recognized as refugees and migrants

Legis has finished implementing the project ‘’Access to rights and protection of vulnerable categories of people recognized as refugees and migrants’’ funded by Unitarian Universalist Service Committee oriented towards research and human rights. Thus, Legis in cooperation with the National Preventive Mechanism against Torture and the Department of the Rights of the Child within the Ombudsperson’s Office has carried out a six-month research on the situation of the access to rights and protection from human rights violations of people recognized as refugees and migrants, irrespective of their legal status or the manner of access to the territory of the Republic of Macedonia. The focus, however, is on vulnerable categories such as women and children. The final product of the research is a public policy document, which contains conclusions of the legal and political as well as field research, and offers suggestions for solutions.

In order to include all the stakeholders of the humanitarian refugee and mixed migration crises, we are organizing a conference to which all local and international organisations working on the field and state institution representatives shall be invited to have a look at the results and give their own opinion.
