Humanitarian and Legal Assistance to Refugees and Migrants in Irregular Transit

 

Legis is implementing the project Humanitarian and Legal Assistance to Refugees and Migrants in Irregular Transit supported by the Open Society Initiative for Europe. In order to access people in irregular migration, Legis has 2 field officers based in the branch office in the village of Lojane, a mobile team consisting of legal and humanitarian aid officers and translator and 1 regional coordinator, providing humanitarian and legal assistance to people in irregular migration and gathering statistical data through the territory of the country, from the southern to the northern borders.

Accordingly, this monthly report represents a summary of: 31 daily reports in total during this period from 16.11.2017 to 16.12.2017.

The total number of people registered during the reporting period in the Legis office is: 114 out of whom: 10 women, 93 man, 11 child, 0 unaccompanied minors, coming from the following countries: 40 from Pakistan, 60 from Afghanistan, 7 from Iran, 5 from Syria, and 2 were from Iraq.

The total number of people registered during the reporting period by the mobile team of Legis that did not want to establish contact with the monitors is 4. Among the groups there where 0 women and 0 children assumed, 4 men, and 0 unaccompanied minors.

Also it is worth emphasising that most of the refugees and migrants that we established contact with were spotted outside, in the woods or either they had intention to spend the night in the open.
