Humanitarian and Legal Assistance to Refugees and Migrants in Irregular Transit

Legis is implementing the project: Humanitarian and Legal Assistance to Refugees and Migrants in Irregular Transit supported by the Open Society Initiative for Europe. In order to access the people in irregular migration, Legis has 2 field officers based in the branch office in the village of Lojane, a mobile team consisting of legal and humanitarian aid officers, translator and 1 regional coordinator, providing humanitarian and legal assistance to people in irregular migration and gathering statistical data through the territory of the country, from the southern to the northern border.

Accordingly, this weekly report represents a summary of: 07 daily reports in total during this period from 02.05.2018 to 08.05.2018.

The total number of people registered during the reporting period in the Legis office is: 29 out of whom: 1 women, 24 men, 4 children, 0 unaccompanied minors, coming from the following countries: 1 from Syria, 7 from Libya, 4 from Iran, 1 from Iraq, 9 from Pakistan, and 7 from Afghanistan.

The total number of people registered during the reporting period by the mobile team of Legis that did not want to establish contact with the monitors is 12. Among the groups there where 1 woman, 4 children or assumed no unaccompanied minors, and 7 men.

Violence from a Pakistan smuggler against  a refugee, resident in T.C Tabanovce:

One smuggler from Pakistan, in the past had a problem with a refugee, resident in the T.C. Tabanovce.

After caused a lot of problems to him in Serbia its seems like the smuggler had an “unfinished business” with him and they on 06.05.2018 entered there and after making some troubles, thanks to the police, they were expelled from the camp.

For hours they were waiting in front of the camp to try to enter again there but they failed to so, and then they decided to come to Lojane.
