Twenty migrants got injured in a van that turned over before Katlanovo tunnel

Eighteen migrants got injured in a car crash, whereas five of them suffered severe injuries, the police confirmed. The car crash took place today around 13.45h, 3-4 km away from the tunnel of Katlanovo, on the Veles-Skopje highway.

The Ministry of Interior announced that an Iveco van, transporting migrants, overturned. So far, eighteen persons have been taken to the Emergency Center at the University Clinics of Skopje for medical aid.

Fourteen injured were received in the Emergency Center, out of whom five suffered severe injuries and they were hospitalized at the Clinic for Anesthesia Reanimation and Intensive Car, while two were taken to the University Clinic for Thoracic Surgery, and two to the Traumatology Clinic. The youngest patient is 16 years old, and the oldest is 50 years old.

8th of September General Hospital received six migrants who suffered minor injuries, and two of them picked up head injuries, but they are off the danger list.

Doctor Vlatko Aleksov stated that all of the patients had been checked and if need be two of those who are under observation, will be taken to the University Clinics.
