Legis has started the implementation of the project Improved non-formal learning opportunities for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in the Republic of North Macedonia that is financially supported by the European Union, through the project IRIS NETWORKing - CSOs for protection sensitive migration management.  You can find out more on the IRIS network on the following link http://iris-see.eu/.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to improved quality of the non-formal learning services available to the asylum seekers in North Macedonia.

The project has the following specific objectives:

                                                                                                                              

- contribute to improved competences of the personnel of the non-governmental organizations working with refugees and migrants;

-assist NGOS develop and implement innovative methods and tools in organizing non-formal learning activities with refugees and asylum seekers;

- improve the transversal competences of the asylum seekers (critical and innovative thinking, interpersonal skills, intra-personal skills, global citizenship, media and information literacy etc.)

- improve the knowledge and understanding among asylum seekers on the European principles and values;

- contribute to prevention of violent extremism and youth radicalization among asylum seekers through non-formal learning.

In the initial phase of the project we are conducting analysis on the training needs of CSOs and their personnel involved in non-formal learning activities with asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in the transit/reception centres in the Republic of North Macedonia.    On the basis of the needs analysis, a team of experts will develop curricula for the training cycle that will be organized for personnel of all organizations that are providing services to asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.
