From 30.09 to 02.10. 2022 at the Belgrade hotel in Struga, Legis organized this year’s school for human rights and youth activism from ethnic minorities in R.N.M under the motto ‘Our unity is our strength, diversity is our strength’. Access to non-formal education and human rights lectures this year was made possible by the Agency for the Implementation of Minority Rights in R.N.M as well as Ngo Legis.
The school for human rights and activism was attended by young people from Skopje, Kočani, Kavadarc and Struga who had the opportunity to learn about the concepts of human rights and rights in general, inter and multiculturalism, the rights of communities in RNM and the European Union and youth and activism. Lectures were handled by Jasmina Golubovska from Legis and Emina Rustemovska as external collaborator.
In addition to the concept of law, the young people had the opportunity to talk about the clean environment as one of the key issues that concern the citizens of North Macedonia.
The participants showed special interest in the protection of the living environment and in the next 2 months to prepare activities for ecological issues that affect the whole society.
Legis, every year tries to organize these trainings and schools for young people and human rights and enables access for young people from smaller ethnic groups, who do not always have equal access to information and the opportunity to build knowledge, and actively act in the representation of their rights.
