Legis at regional conference in Belgrade

The general secretary of Legis, Jasmin Redjepi, attended at the regional conference “Western Balkans on the route of irregular migration and smuggling migrants” on 7th of April in Belgrade, Serbia. The conference was organised by Balkan refugee and migration council, and supported by the embassies of Norway, Netherlands and DRC. There were 3 sessions with interesting and different subjects as: Current situation and challenges related to the influx of refugees from Ukrane; Strengthening the system of combating migrants smuggling in the Western Balkans; Protection of migrants’ rights and prevention of irregular migration in the Western Balkans region. At the conference were present representatives of the NGOs from the region, but also representatives of the state institutions from the same region, that includes Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Kosovo. At the second day there was a meeting of the NGOs from the region of WB, that took part in a regional project of Balkan refugee and migration council. They had presentation of their activities and a workshop for possible future collaboration.
