“Youth actions for positive changes in our communities” is a project implemented in Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey within the Erasmus+ program. Four partner organizations, NGO LEGIS (Macedonia), Institute Circle (Slovenia), NGO World and Danube (Serbia) and Civil Society Development Association (Turkey) got together to give youth a chance to participate and contribute to positive changes that they see necessary in their communities and wider. Project is funded by program Erasmus+.
As we live in a world that witnesses many negative social trends, such as discrimination, exclusion, climate changes etc., many young people want to engage and promote solidarity, cultural dialogue, equal opportunities etc. This project is a perfect opportunity for youth and youth workers to gain new skills for better engagement in different spheres of social life – namely, they will be trained in youth participation, youth actions and active citizenship, in addition to having a change to test their newly acquired skills and knowledge in practice through planning and implementation of local youth actions.
This project includes 4 different activities where at the beginning of the project, a three-day long training for 12 youth workers from 4 countries will take place. The topics of the training will be youth work, youth participation, active citizenship, youth community actions. The second activity includes 5-day long training for 40 young people aged between 14 and 18 (10 from each partner country). The third activity includes two local actions by 10 youth of each country to identify the challenges or problems in their local community and to contribute to solve them. And the last one will be an international conference by all participating youth from partner countries.
The project’s objectives will contribute to strengthen the youth work in North Macedonia, Turkey, Slovenia and Serbia, to promote common European values, to enhance dialogue between young people and local decision-makers in areas identified by young people as important.
